ICH #1

Out of the ethereal realms we discover,
From under the helms where reason recovers,
Come the notes on sheets
Without rhythm, keys, or beats.
A major paradox, an interesting puzzle,
Where the sea surface shines of rubble;
Where the metal is tanned, and the leather fused;
A combination, at surface, sure to confuse.
But the symbols are there, almost fixated,
On an essence that's not premeditated.
Yet even nature yields not the forces of separation
For the pieces to be parted in dual isolation.
Though, time will be your companion in finding the key to this.
Look forward for more, and soon, your pieces will fit.

Advanced Pets: Dawn of a New Age

It is currently about ten minutes before the anticipated release of Advanced Pets.  Of course, KingsIsle was kind enough to remind players that perhaps there was to be extended maintenance, so I won't be too disappointed if we aren't able to log in soon.  I'm sure a lot of players are sitting at their screens, constantly trying to log in to be the "first" inside...Time to explore while we wait!

So, thanks to Miguel Wildthorn and some personal research of my own yesterday in the Test Realm, I feel much more confident about what to do as soon as I jump in.  Yesterday was yet another reset, so it was nice to work with a clean slate and experiment with mating.  However, with just a single day of work before the Live Realm debut, I feel like walking through the fog with future generations of pets, such as the question of how traits are distributed when a later generation mates with a predecessor of the same type, and which Talents tend to get overridden.  But because of our very own "Mendel", I was able to recreate yet another Derby beast (the first one was made between me and Ronan Dawn by accident, on the second day of Test Realm), with this one helping out greatly in Resist AND Pips too!

So, as I explore, plan, and experiment, I will be making frequent posts and archiving them right away in my new Advanced Pets guide collection, under the Chillanthropologist logo.

Pilot

Hello,

So, finally, after much debate with myself, I've finally established a Wizard101 blog.  What held me back at first was my lack of commitment to reserve some time for a public journal, especially when there are so many other projects, such as the KBB Experiments, producing music or another video, battling in the arena for a second Lava Colossus, or just simply helping out anyone who asks.  What finally made me give in was realizing the inevitable.  This blog can be for documentation, a memoir, a narrative with parallels, etc.  In short, another project that I may become lost in.

Since this is a debut, I might as well go into explaining the meaning behind the blog's name: "The Chillanthropologist."  It's basically a play on three different words that all signify what Kevin Battleblood stands for:  (1) He's an Ice wizard [Chill], (2) he likes to help, especially those close to him [Philanthropist], and (3) he likes to ask the "why" and "how" when it comes to wizards, and look for the answers [Anthropologist].

I'm afraid this post will end prematurely...I see an Ice wizard, Level 49, Emily Moonstone, who is so close, yet so far, from leveling.  It would not do to leave a fellow classmate out in the cold (hah hah, pun intended -_- ), so I shall continue introductions another time.  Until then, enjoy my very first video; maybe you'll get to learn something new about your sacrifice minion spell and/or Absorb.

Happy Hunting!
